Thursday, August 21

Hello friends, During the last week, the side effects Glenna has been experiencing have slowing been getting better. Her fatigue remains, but her speech and balance have improved. She had appointments today in Boston with 3 different docs to be checked out and discuss her current situation. Glenna's tumor on her chest has become very large and painful. She wants it gone so badly, but her doctors do not recommend surgery right now, as it would be too risky in her current state. So they discussed having it radiated, mostly to try and relieve some of the discomfort. Radiation was discussed in the past, but at that time surgery seemed a better option. But since Glenna has had the activity in her brain, and has had to endure all the drugs she is taking, they feel it would be too hard to recover from surgery. So she has an appointment on Monday to see Dr. Shih and talk about possibly starting radiation. If they start, they will probably do it right away.
It will be hard for her to have to go through radiation again, but at least she is doing something. It has been really hard for her to have no options. We still pray daily for something new to come along that will be her miracle. We will never give up that hope. And she continues to fight the fight, although she is getting really tired of it. She has had alot of down times lately, and alot of anger. But she always rallies and boosts herself up to a positive state to go on. I've never seen anyone so strong. All we need to do is get her little body as strong as her spirit.
She gets to babysit for Little Minnie this weekend (Lindsey's adorable "little" dog). She is so much fun - Glenna really gets a kick out of her. And Mary loves her too.
Until next time, keep your prayers coming. Love, MK

We cherish the time we got to spend with all of you and only wish we did not have to come back to so far away. We hope and pray there is some relief so Glenna can get strong again and keep fighting. As always, you are in our hearts and prayers. Tedi,Joey & Anna.
