December 7th

Every day, something new!!! Today they asked Glenna to go to the opthamologist to have her eyes examined again. And sure enough, they found a low grade inflammation in the eyes which will also need to be treated. They will again use steroids to treat this, but instead of a shot, she will have eye drops for one month - tapering from 4 a day the first week to 1 a day the last week. Hopefully this will prevent any problems with her vision. This, too, was a direct result of her cell activity. Dr. Rosenberg visited Glenna twice today - with the whole team of doctors - and they concurred that this activity in her eyes and ears is actually a good thing. It means her cells are actively fighting and doing the job they were programmed to do. They also said that she is no longer neutropenic, and as soon as she feels up to it, she can go outdoors and get out of this room! Her counts continue to rise - especially the while cell count. Her platelet count needs to go up a bit, but once that happens, she will be released to go home....YEAH! We're probably looking at the end of next week - more than likely the weekend. Wow, will that be great.

Of course, she will have to make several trips back down here for rechecks and scans, but it sure will be better than laying around here everyday. So, on that happy note, we say goodbye for now. Talk to you again soon.

Love, MK

Yaaaaaaaaaaaay Glennie! go cells go!!! fight fight fight! Keep your spirits up and keep fighting soon enough you'll be outta that hospital room and back on good ol cape cod! I hope you get out and get some fresh air today (perhaps) I know it made me a whole new person when I was feeling down in the dumps. The fresh air can work miracles. Keep smiling and know that everyone is praying for your health! I'm glad you got the cards! Herbie asked me yesterday "Ms. Peck did glenna get her cards yet?" and Marlon found 2 truck stickers that he wanted to put on a card for you. Sooo there might be another shipment of beautiful artwork on its way to you. PS- after you read them you can recycle them, I won't tell:) Thinking of you everyday and eagerly awaiting your health and arrival back home! Love, Julia
