1st Annual Piggy Trot

Yesterday we held our first annual "Piggy Trot" - a 3.7 mile road race held at Dowses Beach in Osterville. It was a beautiful day - perfect for running in the morning, and celebrating in the afternoon. We had 323 registered runners and over 400 people in all attended. It was over and above our expectations for this first-time event. There were so many people who came out and helped us make this happen. We can't thank enough all the sponsors and supporters who gave their time, money and love to help make this a very special day.

We were able to present to the Town of Barnstable the two shade canopies for the lifeguard towers that we had made. They came out beautiful and we know they will help to do their job - and will promote the awareness that is needed to learn that important lesson. We're hoping with further fundraising we will be able to purchase more of these canopies for other cape beaches. We also gave large sunscreen dispensers to be installed in the bathhouse on the beach for use by the guards and all the patrons of the beach. We hope this will also be a reminder for all to use sunscreen everyday - all day.

And now, after a brief break, planning will go forward for our 2nd annual Angel's Masquerade Ball. The date is set - November 6th - and it will be held this year at the Ridge Club in Sandwich, Mass. More details will come soon on our website - so stay tuned.

We are continually amazed at how many people Glenna's life has touched. And now, so many of the people that have loved her throughout the years have come together and created a whole new Glenna-family. It's inspiring and makes life bearable without her.
