Happy, Happy New Year
Oh Happy Day! 2008 is starting out on a very positive note. After not expecting to hear any news from Glenna's preliminary scans last week, Bob, Jake and Glenna were greeted on their 2nd day there by the whole team - Dr. Rosenberg included. They had smiles on their faces and proceeded to tell Glenna that so far, things seem to be moving in a very positive way. From this early scan, they saw signs of change in Glenna's tumors. They are seeing a softening and more liquid consistency in the tumors which could mean the treatment is doing what its supposed to do. They also said there was some slight shrinkage to some. I can't even convey what this news means to us. We know we have to be cautious in our elation, but after so long with no good news, its pretty hard not to get excited. Glenna is feeling very happy, to say the least.
They want her to come back in 3 to 4 weeks for another set of scans and at that point, they will decide by those results what to do. If things continue to move along in positive manner, they may not have to do anything. But if things are moving slower than they want, or if some sights are not being affected, they may want to treat her again. Either way, its a good thing.
Jacob is getting ready to leave for Hawaii (in 2 days!) and he and Glenna have been spending non-stop quality time together. It is so wonderful that he will be able to leave on his long journey with such positive hope for her. We will be taking him to the airport on Tuesday morning, and will immediately start planning our trip to Hawaii.
2008 is going to be a good year - brand new so many ways. Glenna will heal and begin to live a somewhat normal life, Jacob will begin his new career, Bill will get his health back and continue to grow stronger - and life will be good.
Keep the faith, until next time, MK
