Mon4/28 08

Glenna's day started out @ 7am with Dr. Mathur and dad standing over her bed smiling and asking about her night.I had my morning coffee as Glenna's nurse {Keith} came in to check in;ask again how she's feeling and give her morning med's .Everyone so far including myself has needlessly reminded her today is the "BIG DAY". Anxiety gets the best of her and she gets sick. 8:00 the team comes in to again remind her of the "BIG DAY"; how they are very excited for her and how they expect her to have great results. 12:30 has been chosen for her cell infusion the 3pm will begin IL2 continuing every 8 hours for as long as she can tolerate. Keith returns and changes her IV med's then offers her something to calm her anxiety and nausea. Glenna starts to feel a little better and eats some of Colleen's homemade granola with almond milk.Next a visit from the "Pain and Palliative" team ; then Rachael her nutritionist visits. Jake and Colleen show up amongst all the visits. Recreation therapy shows up next to see if there is anything she wants or needs! Glenna asks for a pencil sharpener so she can finish a picture that shes coloring. Keith her nurse who wares a military uniform tells Glenna to think of her cells as an army moving in for the kill.Well put I think! I know she's done well so far this morning dealing with all the intrusion outside her body that an army invading her insides won't be a problem for her!
GO CELLS!!!!
