Hello all, It's me again - MK. Cap'n Bob has gone home to care for the pooches, and I get to be here caring for my girl; not that she needs much caring. She's doing very well. Most of her counts are back to normal. Her platelet count is still a bit low and they want to see if it will come back up on its own. If not, they will have to give her more platelets; but if it does come up, they will send her home either tomorrow or Monday. She's so anxious to get out of here. It looks like she'll definitely be home before Valentine's Day. She was able to get a pass to leave the hospital today and we took the shuttle into town for a delicious lunch at our favorite French bakery/deli - Le Madeline's - oh, so good. It was a beautiful day here today and she was psyched to get outside and walk around. It's amazing what the fresh air will do for your spirit. She even gets to stay overnight at the lodge tonight which is a real treat for her, as the shower is so much better than the one in her room. She'll check back in tomorrow morning early to have her blood drawn and see what those results show.
I wish you could all see her room - the wonderful cards and crafts that were made by all the kids are so great - they adorn the walls of her room and make it so cheerful. She loved getting all the nice cards from everyone. Kelle - the pictures were PRICELESS! Thanks so much to all of you for making these times so bearable for her.
Will write again soon and let you know when we're on our way! Love & Smooches, MK
